The Hills – Season 5 Episode 2 Everything Happens For a Reason

We start off this week at Stephanie’s.  Spencer comes banging on her door.  He says that what he has to say won’t take long.  Spencer starts yelling at her for bringing Heidi to Lauren’s party when she wasn’t invited.  Stephanie points out that didn’t mean he had to go out and get drunk and fight people.  Spencer says that has nothing to do with this.  I disagree, but ok, let’s hear it Spence.  He starts going off on his loyalty thing again and says that Steph didn’t have to show Heidi the text, and she wasn’t acting loyal to the family.  Spencer says he is no longer calling her his sister.  Oh no.  I think we’ve heard that before.  Stephanie says that he’s going to quit telling Heidi what a nice guy Heidi is.  Stephanie says that Spencer has taken this loyalty thing too far, he has nothing other than Heidi, and when he’s single he’ll realize that.  Spencer tells Stephanie she needs to get her life in order first.  WUT?  She kicks him out, but he says he was already leaving.

We get our first scene at Lo and Lauren’s house, and its the morning after.  Audrina is there, she spent the night there, aww like old times, back in season 4.  Lo comes down and asks if they had fun.  LC says she was happy that her friends planned a party for her but….the whole Heidi thing.  Audrina says that she was crying the whole time, and LC points out she was crying on her birthday.  Lo and Audrina make sure to point out that it wasn’t them that invited Heidi, and Lauren agrees, but they had her stuck on a boat.

Heidi is on the war path.  She goes to the Dime, and  tells Stacie that she is Heidi and her fiance was there the other day.   Spencer Pratt.  Stacie says, oh yes, the fighter.  Heidi asks Stacie if  she would have a problem if her boyfriend was acting the way Spencer was the other night.  Stacie says that she would, but she didn’t know what the occasion was or that Spencer had a girlfriend.  She tells Heidi that Spencer tried to get her to dance on the bar.  Heidi makes the :-O face.  Stacie says that she wouldn’t be happy if that was her man.  Heidi is glad Stacie told her though, because she was going to marry that man.

Heidi is sitting on the couch waiting on Spencer to get home.  He does, and she says that she was waiting on him.  Spencer says that he doesn’t want to fight about something he didn’t do.  Heidi tells him what the bartender said.  Spencer says that he didn’t do anything wrong, and tries to flip it back around on her.  Spencer tries to say that he’s been stuck to her hip the past 3 years.  Heidi says she’s going to go to Colorado, and Spencer tells her to say hello to her mom.  Ouch.

Are they just rehasing the plot from last season.  Heidi is in Colorado.  Boring.  Darlene is happy to see Heidi again.  Heidi says she’s so frustrated with her life.  Darlene says that Heidi should take a break, and Heidi says that’s why she was there.  Aww.  Heidi tells her mom that she went to Lauren’s party and she could tell Lauren was so mad that Heidi chose Spencer.  I don’t think that’s the case at all, but whatever.  She tells Darlene about Spencer’s fight, and Darlene says he’s the main thread in everything that’s wrong.

Lauren and Stephanie are at some fabric store, and Stephanie wants LC’s help picking out some fabric.  Stephanie says that Heidi invited herself, and Lauren points out that is ridiculous, she wouldn’t have even known at the party.  Stephanie tries to convince Lauren that she should take Heidi back, and Heidi just wants her best friend back.  LC finally gets mad and tells Stephanie she needs to quit inviting her to things and pushing Heidi on Lauren.  She’s tired of it, and you can’t force relationships.

Back to LA and Spencer is at a coffee shop, when in walks Brody.  Spencer greats him warmly, which is odd since I didn’t think they were friends.  Spencer tries to yank his chain around and Brody tells him to cut the shit, Spencer left him some weird message and Brody is there to listen.  Spencer gives him the run down, and keeps saying homie which is distracting.  Brody says that if it were him he’d be pissed at Heidi.  Spencer perks up immediately and says that he is on the same page.  Brody tells him he’s young and he should go out and have fun.

Darlene and Heidi go to meet Tim, Darlene’s husband for dinner.  Tim says they missed her at Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Darlene tells her about this guy Colby who she used to go out with in high school.  Darlene says that Colby started his own business and he’s randomly in town.  Oh what a coincindence he is at the restaurant.  Darlene set this up.  She loves Colby, he’s a good Christian boy.  So so so awkward.  Heidi is not amused.

Brody and Lauren are out and they chat about her birthday party.  Brody tells Lauren about Spencer calling him.  Brody says he’s in a really bad place right now.  Lauren says that after everything the only two people that Heidi and Spencer have to call are each other.

Heidi is out back drinking some coffee with her mom and looking out at the snowy mountains.  Darlene talks up Colby some more and says that everything happens for a reason.  GAG.  Darlene says she likes it when Heidi is here, she’s more grounded and balanced here and she spends all her time with Spencer.  Heidi says that Spencer doesn’t have power over her, she does what she wants.  Darlene agrees but says that he has more influence over her than she realizes.   Heidi finally says what everyone else was thinking.  She finally says its a good thing they didn’t get married.

Back to LA and Spencer is at the Dime again, pounding shot and talking to Stacie.  She says that everytime he’s in there he finishes a bottle of tequilla.  Stacie asks where his girlfriend is.  He tells Stacie what happened, and Stacie says that she thought his girlfriend was crazy.  It appears Stacie is playing both sides.  She toasts to no crazy exgirlfriends.  Stacie says something about ‘next time’ and Spencer asks if there will be a next time.  Stacie says that’s up to him.  Spencer says its late, and Stacie doesn’t want it to end.  Uh oh.  It looks like Stacie does like Spencer.
