Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving – we here at DeadOn are eternally thankful for our readers: the handsome, highly educated, beautiful lot of you – so, please be careful at your local big box stores and shopping malls today. See you on Monday.

This is what a police sketch of House might look like. Tonight I thought we might need a police sketch of House, because a desperate diagnosee went all Dog Day Afternoon, taking hostages in Cuddy’s office and the SWAT team showed up. My other primary thought was how forced this premise seemed and how this really could be looked at as a last resort attempt to muster suspense for “House M.D.” It’s all been done before, or as we in the business like to say, “Simpsons did it.” Follow up after the jump to see the other reasons I was disappointed by this week’s episode.

Some quick news this week before the recap.  Heidi and Spencer eloped and got married. MTV can’t be happy they did that without it being for their cameras.  I wonder how long it will take for this event to show up on the show.

Well, wouldn’t you know it? Our major releases this week couldn’t even wait until Tuesday. The most notorious of these releases came out yesterday, exclusive to iTunes and a certain blue painted big-box store. The others are due out today and tomorrow, although my Target decided to go ahead and sell them yesterday. I’m thinking this wasn’t a planned release bump, since iTunes and Amazon were still showing them as not available yet. So kudos to the merchandiser at the 7 Corners Target who might be losing their job for filling out the new release endcap a couple of days early!

Axl and Brandon and Kanye this week! Oh my! Jump with me. (more…)

Yeah, of all the scripted dramas on television, “Grey’s Anatomy” is the only one I watch faithfully. (I can’t ever catch “The Hills” at the right time.)

But I’ve seen nearly every episode, and have watched all of Season Five so far. Below, some thoughts on ABC’s sudsy behemoth. (more…)

We here at DeadOn clearly have a fondness for the 1990s. Blame it on a majority of the founding blogfathers and blogmothers here being in their late 20s and early 30s. A lot of folks have an unnecessary fondness for the pop culture of their youth, and we’ve decided to revisit it on a year-by-year basis. Here’s the rub though: the first few of these, they might be a little spotty in our memory banks. 1990 was 18 (nearly 19…) years ago afterall. But, we’re gonna do our best to recap what we recall best about each year. That’s right, we’re totally ripping off approximately 897 Vh1 series. And we’re darn proud of it. After the jump, please join me, Yostal, Matt_T, JB, and BTO as we recall the halcyon days of 1990… (more…)

Here’s the good news – the FNL recaps here are pretty popular. The bad news – I’ve been awful about getting them up on time the past few weeks because my beloved Chippewas have also been playing at the same time as the Dillon Panthers. This leads to me not watching the episodes until a couple of days later. However, for the final four episodes of this season, I should be able to watch them on Wednesday. So, the rest of the season should go up on time. And Wednesday’s episode recap should go up this afternoon. God willing. In the meantime, here’s a little FNL music for you. Have a great weekend, folks. And check out the Round Table coming up this morning.

But I liked this song.

Looks like Foreman might not be hidden behind House for too much longer. You see that? Because he’s behind him… oh forget it. On this week’s episode, not only does everyone lie but some people lie like every time their mouth opens. Also, Cuddy initiates the end of Foreman’s indentured servitude. What? Come on, it’s not even a full-on slavery joke. Not to mention the fact that racism is dead. Didn’t you watch TV the first few days after Obama won the election? Racism drowned in a sea of Jesse Jackson’s/Stephen Colbert’s tears. Oprah brushed racism right off a white man’s shoulder, then put her head on it.  Neither black nor white is smokin’ crack tonight. No longer is Adam Duritz the only colorblind one hanging around.

You’re right, what that satirical affirmative societal progressivism leading into double Counting Crows pun gibberish means is that I didn’t do any research this week. For those six of you who click the informative link every week, I apologize. There are, in fact, actual things that happened in the actual show after the jump.

Nothing is coming out today in the United States.

But apparently, Kanye’s second album, Soulja Boy’s debut, and a Black Eyed Peas CD are all coming out in Japan. Which has nothing to do with the video.

We open with Kenneth coming out of a control room, reminding Liz who he is, as he’s convinced that he’s unrecognizable in the new page’s uniform, which he hates. The change seems to be that it’s a gray suit with less flair. He marches off, squirming in his new clothes.

Liz then runs into Jenna, telling her that she got a call from security (Jenna: “That’s ridiculous. Why would I steal a file from Personnel?”) that their friend from Chicago, Claire Harper, is in the lobby. They reminisce about times past, the time they danced in the fire hydrant, Claire’s roof parties, karaoke in Boystown, all-night scavenger hunts, the time they crashed that Polish wedding… Liz: “Yeah, she’s exhausting.” Jenna: “I know, she’s going to make us buy more of her homemade jewelry. Birds always attack me when I wear it!” Liz vows to not get dragged off to some club for the night. (more…)

The Office “Business Trip” Recap Thursday, November 13, 2008

Look at that cold-eyed deadbeat. Probably back on the drugs. Did you hear him last week? Still so darned full of himself. And that stupid half zipped up sweater. And that stupider beard. Who do you think you are, Ben Gibbard? Actually, he’s more of a Dwight I guess. I honestly don’t know which one that is.

Why all the negativity? Because evidently, BJ Novak would rather hang out with Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt than continue appearing on “The Office.” Jan is also taking a hiatus to go impersonate Renee Zellwegger on Broadway.

This week, David sends Michael to Winnipeg on a business trip, presumably as attempted retribution for sending his girl back to Nashua. Remind me never to switch over until like five seconds after it starts, so I don’t have to see the end of “Kath and Kim” ever again.

Some Mase I was reminded of the other day.

This was used effectively in the “Ultimate Highlight” or something on ESPN.
