…and Disney execs feel fine

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

Starring: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley

Pitch: The Enchanted Tiki Room movie didn’t make it out of turnaround, so I guess we’ll have to make the most popular movie of the year instead. sigh.

Synopsis: Pirates flirt, fight, and fey their way through a lumbering three hour film.

Target Market: People that like rollicking. Are you a rollicker? You look like a rollicker.

Why You Should See This Movie: You haven’t stopped masturbating since you saw Johnny Depp on “21 Jump Street”.

Also releasing:

There is one interesting bit of counter-programming this weekend:
BugAshley Judd continues her quiet tour de force as a woman on the run, hiding out in the Rustic Motel with Michael Shannon. Both struggle with inner demons that manifest as a bug problem. Or is it more…? (Warning: Harry Connick Jr. plays another psychopath. Please, I’m begging you, Hollywood: send him back to Louisiana. For America’s sake. Please.)

I’m the only one in america who thinks this whole pirate’s franchise is just meh.

The first one was good I guess, but the second one was mindnumbingly stupid.

Yes, I will see the third. Sigh, you win again Disney.

No, I agree w/ you Mitch. I loved the first movie (in part because it actually had parts from the Disney ride…), but the second was just dumb. I’ll probably see the third to watch Chow Yun-Fat’s state-side career walk the plank.

i also agree with you. The second was so stupid the whole thing with the wheel was dumb (ignoring that they are now just making things up.)

I like them, they’re not oscar winners, but they’re good enough. Better then most of the stuff out there, i think.

Anything that has both Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley, I’m there. It’s got LegOLas in it too.

Is anybody else creeped out by the Tiki Room? I never liked that show.

Is it wrong that I was actually masturbating to Peter DeLuise?

What is a “quiet tour de force?”

Is that like when you say something awesome, and you know it was awesome, but no-one else heard it?

What is a “quiet tour de force?”

Michael Moore’s next documentary, on mime-on-mime crime.

Charlie Chaplin?
Birth of a Nation?
Stephen Hawking?
Helen Keller’s autobiography?
