I know you missed it earlier. I’m sorry.

Kanye’s yearning hook and the Last Poets’ spoken-word histories are the window dressing; the burbling, drum machine-on-repeat beat with occasional choral bits is the backdrop.
And Common, one of the finest narrative MCs ever, spits three great, presumably autobiographical verses; the first two are remarkable in that nearly every bar rhymes (or is at least a slant rhyme). A slept-on classic with a damn good video, directed by Mr. West, to go with it.
Tomorrow’s a long timely video, and it’s not going to have (any) salty language; be aware.

Great song though. Two consecutive solid days; actually your whole debut has been excellent. I was skeptical at first because I don’t know much about hip-hop or rap, but I’ve liked everything so far. Well done Rockabye.
