COUNTRY WEEK, Y’ALL!! You’re missing out if you aren’t joining in on the Tuesday Night Idol Liveblog. Phrases are being coined left and right and we will now be referring to Michael Sarver as Fat Dale, Jr. Grand Ol’ Opry week wasn’t as awful as we anticipated and it left most of us pleasantly surprised. Except for one particular performance. Join us after the jump for the weekly meeting of the post-performance Roundtable… (more…)

holly - christmassy shitEvery week, leading up to Jebus’ birthday, I am going to be pulling a couple choice lines out of a long-lost DeadOn Liveblog that never saw the light of day. The game is simple… After the post each week, post your guesses as to what the movie is that we liveblogged.

We had some good guesses last week, but nothing correct. So here are another 5 lines from the liveblog to help narrow down the movie.

Jukeboxhero: Not Kobra Kai material

Andrea: I like it when it hurts a little

Jerkwheat: how do you watch my sex tape? I filmed it in b&w to make it seem classier?

LidleFlightClass: like seriously though. Man Who to Fell Earth. David Bowie bites a girl in the ass while having sex with her

CDNMoose: The disfigured men of NAMBLA loved this movie

I think this is probably the last week to make guesses, and I’ll post the actual liveblog sometime next week. So have at it and try to crack the puzzle!

We are going to start with the first five lines, in no particular order.

CDNMoose: GLORY HOLE! x2!

Andrea: fellate himself?

Jerkwheat: he wants taco flavored kisses

Jukeboxhero: This is what goes on at guantanamo

AthleticSupporter: *imagines joey harrington and michael vick playing piano together… kinda like in “big” *

Also… once the correct porn movie is guessed I will post the funnied-up liveblog.

So its been awhile since I remembered to do this, but this week is special and I would never forgive myself if I didn’t at least mention it.

Planet Earth: The Complete Collection – For all of you that have already bought the Discovery Channel version, prepare to be disappointed. This week the BBC releases the Region 1 compatible version, complete with narration of David Attenborough. That man could read off his grocery list and I’ll listen. Also available on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, so all of you assholes with an HDTV and a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD player, spend the extra $10 to make me and all of your friends jealous.

Night at the Museum – I’ve only seen bits of this movie, before I dozed off. For all of you out there with children, might be worth a look. It has Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais and Robin Williams so I assume it has its moments.

Harry and the Hendersons – The only Academy Award winner on this week’s list, after hauling in the gold for Best Makeup in 1988. Starring John Lithgow, this laugh a minute family comedy is a must have for any collection.

Between power outages and the events of the past two days, DeadOn went on a little hiatus recently. Our loyal readership was forced to talk about 80’s power ballads. We are all very sorry for this, and lets all just hope that it never comes to this again. ESPN tried to distract us with a foodfight in the Fenway stands yesterday, but grown men throwing pizza at eachother is only funny so many times. Hopefully this little home made comedy short will help you on your way.

OK, this is kind of breaking news and I would never forgive myself if I didn’t bring it to yourpeppers.jpg attention. The classic album, and generally regarded as the greatest ever (incorrectly, it belongs in the #2 spot), Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, is to be remade this summer in honor of the 40 year anniversary. Bands so far announced to be involved are Oasis, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, James Morrison, the Fratellis, and Travis. Geoff Emerick, the man who was in charge of the original album, will also be working on the covers. No word yet on who will sing what, or if Zak Starkey, Oasis drummer and son of Ringo, will follow in his father’s footsteps and sing “With a Little Help From My Friends”.

Share your thoughts on whether this is a tribute to a great band, or a blasphemy to one of the greatest albums ever in the comments.

Previously, they went from Ecuador to Chile. There was mud, speed limits and Team Big Mac went home. Also, apparently my fair readers are unhappy with my team nicknames, so I will just go back to using their real names. I am here to please you, readers. Except I may still use Beauty & the Barbaro from time to time, cause that really makes me laugh. (more…)
