My Finale-Was Pretty Good For A Last Show Thursday, May 7, 2009Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in finales, SA, Scrubs.
So maybe my bias is showing here. You know what? I don’t think I care. That was a good ending. I never really expected it to be that emotional or that funny since, well, pretty much no series finale is like that. What I thought we’d get was just a good Scrubs episode (only an hour long) and that’s what we got. So let’s get to this last Scrubs recap, shall we?

I honestly don’t know what to think about the second to last episode of Scrubs. It wasn’t that funny nor was it that emotional. It was just a, as I call it, classic setup episode. But with that said I never find any of the episodes Zach Braff direct funny so who knows what the reason was? All I know is that it was a epi that was just…there and a bit all over the place. So let’s just dive into the review and figure things out as we go.
My Cuz-Yay Sean and Kim Are Back! Thursday, April 23, 2009Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in SA, Scrubs, the balls.
Okay, so I can’t hold my excitement. I really liked Scott Foley and Elizabeth Banks when they were on the show. I’ll give you a lot of that was because they kept JD and Elliot apart, but I did like their characters. And them as actors. So yeah.
Oh, and like hi. Here we are again with another review. I know I should have been keeping up with these, but, well, I got lazy. And missed a few shows. Like, I just saw last week’s show yesterday. By the way, I loved Sam Lloyd’s cover of “Hey Ya.” Seriously, I need to go and buy The Blanks’ cd. Anyway, it’s three (including this one) episodes left and I want to do the last three recaps of the series. So let’s do this. (more…)
My Saving Grace and My Happy Place-Talk Amongst Yourselves Wednesday, January 14, 2009Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in SA, Scrubs.
Well, it’s not like this hasn’t happened before. And I’m sure we both knew I wasn’t going to catch at least one night. Well, I knew. I highly doubt you care a bit about me. Anyways, I didn’t get to see the show last night. There are reasons, there are always reasons. But I had planned to watch it this morning and write about it. Except ABC’s player is acting like a little bitch right now. And I really don’t want to download the show. And it’s not streamed by Hulu. And I hate doing reviews/posts after 12 PM. It’s almost no point in doing them cause you would have caught it by then. So yeah, no luck for last night’s episodes people.
But just because I haven’t seen it doesn’t mean y’all can’t talk about it. How was Maddox dismissed? Is Kelso still at the hospital? If so was there an explanation given? Is Cox the new Chief of Medicine yet? Did JD and Elliot get back together like we all know they are even if some of us would give away our left ovary so that wouldn’t happen? (Sigh) Are there going to be two episodes every Tuesday for the rest of Season 8? Discuss in the comments. I’m gonna try to catch the two epis before next week. And work out my problems with ABC’s player.
My Jerks and My Last Words Finally Brought Scrubs Back On The Air Wednesday, January 7, 2009Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in Posts that should have more humor, Reasons why I am single, SA, Scrubs.
Hooray, Scrubs is back! Last night was the big debut for my our favorite tortured (well, as much as being on prime time television is torture) show and they came back with a big name and two new episodes. I gotta be honest, I had no idea if I was going to do recaps this half year/season. Not because I wasn’t asked to, more like I didn’t know if I wanted to. The last season (especially its season finale which was aired out of order) really left a sour taste in my mouth. But whatevs now. If we get a ninth then who knows. But for now why not?
And with a two episode season premeire there is a lot to talk about. So let’s get this party started, shall we? (more…)

I knew this day would come. I knew it from the very beginning that when the show would end somehow Kelso wouldn’t be the Chief of Medicine anymore. But now that it’s here…IT SUCKS. I almost feel like crying. Almost. And this was yet another good episode. Lawrence and crew is on a roll. Let’s get to the recap, shall we? (more…)
My Manhood-Was A VAST Improvement Over Last Week Friday, April 18, 2008Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in Posts that should have more humor, SA, Scrubs, TV.
We’ll get to the recap in a second but I really need to get something off my chest. Those of you wanting the recap just go right ahead and click the jump. Ok, here goes…
Fuck you NBC. Fuck you and your fucking top brass and everyone that works at your fucking network. I am so glad that this is the last season Scrubs will have to have that little fucking peacock sitting in the left hand side of the corner of the screen. Even if ABC doesn’t pick up the show and there won’t be an eighth season and we’ll have to see the rest of the originally planned 18 episodes on DVD, it’s a major improvement over you. You couldn’t hold off, could you? You just had to screw around with the fans of this show one last time before removing it from your air forever. To paraphrase from several of my fellow commenters at Deadspin, go fuck yourselves, you cocksuckers.
Yes, I know this is a bit of an over reaction, but I am so damn tired of NBC switching time slots and switching days and making the fans of this show go back and forth. It’s the last damn season on their network. It’s mid April meaning there isn’t going to be a lot of episodes left. But I guess that doesn’t matter. The time slot move in and of itself isn’t the problem, it’s the fact that NBC keeps doing this over and over to this one show. If they wanted The Office and 30 Rock to be their 9 PM shows they could have easily done that at the beginning of the season (back in September) or when the shows started back last week. But no, they had to wait two shows in to move it.
Seriously NBC, I think I hate you. Now, on to the recap. (more…)
My Bad Too-Was A Pretty Average Episode Friday, April 11, 2008Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in just some poor attempts at humor, maybe you should read a book instead, SA, Scrubs, Things too long to read, TV.
But I don’t think I care too much because Scrubs is back on!! I don’t think people realize that the last new episode we saw was in the middle of December. Almost three and a half months since we saw what was happening with the staff of Sacred Heart and I gotta say that as an episode, it wasn’t the greatest we’ve ever seen. And considering, if the articles were right, that Scrubs had about five new episodes ready to show that just didn’t make the air then this episode was a pre-strike one. I don’t know how to feel about that. Shouldn’t it have been better?
Like I said, I don’t think I care. The show was back on. And it surrounded two storylines with a little Cox/Kelso thrown in. (more…)
My Scrubs Top 10 Friday, March 28, 2008Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in I don't get out much, maybe you should read a book instead, Posts that should have more humor, Reasons why I am single, SA, Scrubs, Things too long to read, Top 10 lists, TV.
So Scrubs is coming back next week. Woo hoo! As you can tell, I’m very excited about that.
But the better (or worst, depending on your perspective) news coming this week is that it looks like the show has been renewed for an eighth season and will probably leave NBC and be shown on ABC. All I can say is about damn time. NBC hasn’t given a damn about the show in a long time. They were happily going to let this season finish out and let that be that. Scrubs might not bring in the big viewer numbers like The Office, but its fans are very loyal. We had to be with all the switching around nights and time slots and whatnot. ABC seems to have a real interest in having it in its lineup and all I have to say is that it’s nice to see a network that actually cares about the show. But the most important news that comes out of this is that we’ll finally get an ending to the show. While I think having an eighth season is good news, I completely understand why some want it to end now. But I would freak out if we didn’t get a proper ending. I’ve spent seven seasons with the staff of Sacred Heart, a rush ending wouldn’t do the show any justice.
Now, with that out of the way let’s get back to the point of this post. I said in my last post that I wanted to do a Top 10 of the best songs Scrubs played during it’s tenure after the series finale. Well, now that it looks like that series finale is going to be May 2009, I didn’t want to wait that long. So I’ma do the Top 10 now. I’m sure there’s going to be songs during the rest of this season and next that I’m going to love and will personally make me want to change this list. But we’ll get there then. Hell, we can do this again next year. Why not?
So, here is my Top 10. Maybe we can make this a feature the rest of this season and next. If there is enough interest, everyone can do their own top 10 and send it to me. I can post it on Thursday and we’ll get to the recap on Friday. I am 100% sure we’re not all going to have the same 10 on our lists. So give me your opinions on the idea in the comments and let me think about this a bit and I’ll get back to y’all next week*. Now, on to the Top 10. (more…)
Um…So Do You Know When Scrubs Is Coming Back On? Friday, January 18, 2008Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in boooo reruns, SA, Scrubs, TV.
And no, that wasn’t some wannabe catchy title to a post. I’m genuinely asking all of you out there, do you know when Scrubs is going to come back on? Because there had been some articles out there claiming that yesterday was when it was coming back, but if you happen by NBC at 9:30 last night you saw some type of C/D-list Celebrity Apprentice on or some shit like that. I mean, how hard up on material is NBC that they have that going on right now?
Anyway, back to scheduling. There were rumors that the show was going to start next week, and then more saying the show will be back in February. With only five finished episodes left I guess it’s smart to back them up a bit, but it’s the middle of January and sooner or later you’re going to run out of new episodes. Might as well play them now, right? Or maybe that’s my inner junkie coming out. There is only so many Comedy Central and local syndication re-runs of seasons 2-3 I can take.
So if you know when Scrubs is going to start playing their final six episodes (so far) this season, holla at me. Let me know in the comments. And more Scrubs talk, although of the personal project kind, after the jump. (more…)
My Charlie Brown Christmas Friday, December 21, 2007Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in boooo reruns, SA, Scrubs, That was easy, TV.
So I’m 100% sure without looking it up that there was no Scrubs on last night. The whole week so far NBC has been showing that “Choir” shit and I’d bet $1000 they did that last night as well. And considering that the show is going to be a repeat next week (a replay of the season premiere) and probably the first week of the new year, there won’t be any recaps for a while. And to be honest, depending on how long the writers’ strike go on, I don’t know how many more recaps they’ll be this television season. The show had filmed 12 of their last 18 (or 19 depending on which site you go look on) when the strike started and we’re already up to six. So there will be definitely be six more, but after that…who knows.
Anyway, depressing news about t.v. over, here is a special Scrubs video for you. I first saw this over the summer and Metsy showed it to me again few weeks ago. It’s the cast of Scrubs doing a Charlie Brown Christmas. And it’s really good, but I must warn you that it’s a bit long, around 10 minutes. And it was done during Christmas 2003. But who cares? It’s still good.
So Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you out there. I’ll see y’all in the new year.
Dr. Cox: Tell me something Newbie, if a tree falls down in a forest and no one is around to hear it are you still a dumbass?

If you enjoyed Scrubs last night then good for you. If you laughed at a single thing then I’m jealous. Seriously, what the hell was that? I don’t remember an episode where I didn’t even giggle, much less laugh, at one joke or gag. And that was when I was paying attention. My mind spaced off several times, missing parts of the episode. Major parts. Like that scene where Elliot and JD was talking about her patient (I’m assuming)? Yeah, didn’t hear a word. Or the scenes where Carla and Kelso was tracking down Janitor and his girlfriend? I’m not even sure they were tracking him down. And Turk and Cox? Believable, but boring as all get out.
Ugh, I didn’t like this one at all. But I am quite sure that everyone else did. So let’s get to what happened, shall we? Or what I remember to have happened. (more…)
My Identity Crisis-Was A Blast From The Past Friday, November 16, 2007Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in I don't get out much, Reasons why I am single, SA, Scrubs, TV.
And by past I mean it was a light show that didn’t have any overwhelming issues that carried over from one episode to the next. Or at least so far it doesn’t look like it will. And while some may disagree with me, I thought it was one of the better episodes so far this season. Granted this season for Scrubs is four episodes old, but you get my point. I thought the show had many funny moments and two good storylines that gave us a beginning, middle, and ending. Plus there was a lot of character interaction (mixing Dr. Cox’s and JD’s stories) that added to the show. So let’s start at the beginning, shall we? (more…)
My Inconvenient Truth-Bored Me Friday, November 9, 2007Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in I don't get out much, SA, Scrubs, TV shows.
So this whole “Green Week” thing NBC has going continued with the third episode in Scrubs series finale season. And it was a big bore for me. Yes, it was good. Yes, I enjoyed seeing Tom Cavanagh as I really like Cavanagh as an actor and the character of Dan. But overall the show spoke of network intrusion. It felt forced. Big time. It’s like NBC told Bill Lawrence and crew at the last minute what they were doing with the whole “going green” thing and, in a haste, the show wrote up this episode. Oh NBC, wasting one of the precious last episodes of this show on your advertised to the point of no importance week long television event. When will you learn? With all that said, the big storyline this week was a good one with one minor exception. (more…)
My Own Worst Enemy-Got Scrubs Back On Track Friday, October 26, 2007Posted by Shakarean Hutchinson in SA, Scrubs, Things too long to read, TV.
Who gives a fuck about the World Series and the Boston College-Virginia Tech football game when Scrubs is back! Finally after every other show had it’s season premiere, Scrubs kicked off their seventh and final season. And I must say that this was the best season premiere since Season Two. Everything was back on track to the Scrubs that made us all fans. Hey Bill Lawrence…good job. And what started it off right was the wrapping up of that situation Elliot and JD had gotten themselves into during the season finale last May. (more…)

Here we go people. In three days “The Simpsons Movie” will be out in theaters for you to enjoy. For the past 19 weeks, Moose and I have been counting down this list and I gotta admit, I’m glad it’s coming to an end. Not because I’m burnt out on The Simpsons, but because I’m lazy and knowing that I had to do this every other week is exhausting. A lot of work, these posts are.
So as my final post comes up, I must say it’s been nice taking a stroll down memory lane. And really seeing these episodes for the first time. I was nothing bu a wee child when they were first shown, so a lot of these I had to catch on syndication. Doing this let me see the full episode, many for the first time. This next episode is the perfect example of that.
So let’s go way back into the Simpsons vault and see what happens when you decide to try something new. And if you have 24 hours to live, never ever visit your parents. Those old folks get in the way.

Look, I have no cute little opening for this episode. This one, like a certain other episode I did, is one of my favorites. From beginning to end it just rocks. Almost every single line is quotable. And that’s really all I need to say.
Next week, “The Simpsons Movie” opens. Which means we’re 8 days away. Can you fucking feel it people?

My God, how I miss football. Football that comes on television on the weekends. Football where we actually know the teams. Football that can make a girl orgasm with a last second play.
Ok, maybe I got carried away but you know what I mean.
This AFL bullshit is not football. Repeat: not football. And I will never acknowledge it as such. Which is why this week’s (second) edition of 20 most cromulent had me nostalgic for the fall when all this baseball stuff is finally starting to wind down and we’re getting some really good matchups within conferences.
So as we wait it out, let’s go back to when the Simpsons was all about the football. And gambling. And buying spiffy new clothes.

At least that’s what I thought the plan was.
Anyhoo, #7 brings us back to Season Three, a glorious season for all involved. It has corruption, singing, and Homer starting his decline to stupidity. So after the jump, join me in appreciating Reading Digest, the trading gap, and talking to memorials. (more…)

So, remember that summer camp variant of the Telephone game where one person would tell the beginning of a story, then the next person would continue the story, and so on until the story devolved into the world’s longest poo joke? (Note: the “longest” describes the joke, not the poo. At least at my summer camp.”)
So we decided to play that game as much older children, with not only a wider vocabulary but an extremely more sophisticated gutter mind.
Surprisingly, the word “roundhouse” was used only three times. Twice by CDNMoose.
