So…in last week’s episode (“Jughead”) we found out that Faraday has been on the island in the past, Charles Widmore was a former resident on the island and there’s a giant nuke buried on the island. We also learned that Desmond has the balls to stand up to Penny’s father and is on the hunt for Faraday’s mother (who, I’m assuming is Mrs. Hawking-PQ). Finally, we learned that Richard Alpert is old.

So, place your cold-compress on the back of your neck, put a tissue under your nose, tilt your head back and hit the jump for the recap for “The Little Prince.”

Wait, what? It’s been how long? Really?

Let’s see, where did we leave off? Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and baby Aaron left the island and are lovingly referred to as the “Oceanic Six.” Sawyer is continuing his pursuit of Jack’s on-island crushes. Jin is either in one piece or a million little pieces. Locke is now off of the island and is resting comfortably in a casket.

Oh, and the island fucking moved.

Recap and discussion after the jump…

The Shape of Things to Come (Ben-centric)

Well, apparently I missed the recap of episode 8; here it is in bullet-point fashion:

  • Yup, Michael is back.
  • Michael tried to kill himself, but the island wouldn’t let him.
  • Rousseau and Karl were gunned down in a drive-by (or something to that effect-PQ)

Okay, now we’re up to speed, yes? I’m not going to waste anymore time writing up an introduction; hit the jump for the recap of the best episode of Lost since the finale of season three.

Ji Yeon (Sun and Jin-centric)

Well, it was the penultimate episode of the initial “pod” of episodes and it was…okay. The highlight of the episode had nothing to do with either Jin or Sun, it wasn’t even a true “surprise” either…

Anyhow, it’s been a long weekend and Ji Yeon bored me so I’m mailing it in for this week’s recap. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure the recap of next week’s (or, by the time this post goes up, this week’s–PQ) episode, Meet Kevin Johnson, will be completely detailed.

Hit the jump for the bullet-point recap of Ji Yeon. (Sorry!) (more…)

The Other Woman (Juliet-centric)

After last week’s mind-fuck, Lost returned to form with their straight-forward flashbacks in The Other Woman. Personally, I’ve always thought that the Juliet-centric episodes have been good, but never great. I was horribly, horribly wrong about that this week. Probably because we finally got some fucking answers about the show’s overall plot in this episode. (Okay, that’s twice I’ve sworn in this paragraph, I’ll stop now. Promise–PQ.) Answers aside, The Other Woman shed some light onto Juliet’s past on the island and proved that Juliet isn’t as wholesome as we thought she was…

The recap is after the jump…along with cooked rabbit! (Uh, this didn’t have a number on the side of it, did it, John?)

The Constant (Desmond-centric flashbacks)

I’d like to thank ABC for making a liar out of me last week. They’ve revised their schedule for Lost and it will run with the original plan to air the first eight “pre-strike” episodes and then return with another five as they previously stated. The ninth episode will kick-off the second “pod” of episodes on April 24th. The airdates for Lost can be found here, courtesy of TV Guide.

The Constant mixed up the “flashback” formula a bit and ran the events in “real-time.” In other words, Desmond’s consciousness jumped back and forth between the present to the past, but the episode’s events ran as one complete story. (I’ll attempt to recap the episode from beginning to end instead of “present-day Desmond” and “past-Desmond”. Forgive me if I confuse you.)

(Clever and witty saying to convince you to hit the “jump” link goes here.)

So, last week we found out that Sayid works as an assassin for Ben in the future, the island is 31 minutes behind real-world time and that Ben apparently has means and reasons to leave the island. Again, more questions…no answers.

Before we recap Eggtown, there’s a small bit of Lost news to share. TV Guide has reported that Lost will run for another three episodes and then return for five additional episodes on April 24th at 10pm. Grey’s Anatomy will take Lost‘s current time-slot (Thank you, ABC, for moving Lost yet again!)

Also, the Lost video-game, Lost: Via Domus, for the PC, 360 and PS3 will be released on Tuesday the 26th. Details can be found here.

The Economist (Sayid-centric)

I’ll admit it right now, Sayid is my favorite character on Lost. If I’m ever stuck on an island with a group of deranged scientists that refuse to state what their intentions are, I’m teaming up with the professional torturer until he waterboards some answers about the smoke monster out of them. Now Sayid didn’t torture anyone in this episode, but we saw him kick ass in a different occupation.

It’s official: The writers’ strike is over and most broadcast networks’ shows will be producing new episodes to air before the summer break.

Unfortunately, a few series’ futures are still up in the air. Scrubs has four episodes that were filmed before the strike that are ready to air and four episodes that are set to be filmed; it is unknown if NBC will air them. Prison Break has two episodes left and it’s unknown if any more are to be filmed for the series. As DeadOn previously discussed, Friday Night Lights‘ future is in limbo; please help save it.

Production for 24, Chuck, and Heroes has been pushed back until next fall/winter.

TV Guide has an excellent listing that details the status of each series affected by the strike, how many episodes will be filmed and when they’ll air.

Hello all, we’re just going to assume that you caught the season four premiere of Lost. If you didn’t, here’s the main highlights:

  • It was a Hurley flash-forward showing him running from an imaginary Charlie who finally catches up to him to tell him that “they need you.”
  • Jack and Locke disagree about the intentions of the crew on the freighter and go their separate ways. The survivors split into two camps. Some go with Locke, some with Jack. Locke is now headed to the Other’s barracks.
  • In one of Hurley’s flash-forwards, Hurley is visited in a mental hospital by a man with an African accent. The African asks Hurley, “Are they still alive?”
  • Later, in another flash-forward, Hurley is visited by Jack. Hurley tells Jack that they have to go back to the island.

The episode 2 recap is after the jump. 4 8 15 16 23 42…Execute!

Hello all, this is PQ Crash again covering two of the finer things in life: Booze and video-games. I knew I wanted to review Burnout: Paradise this week, but I couldn’t pin down what alcohol would go well with it. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of asking the lady at the liquor store what booze went well with driving. After being asked to leave I headed over to another liquor store and on the way there I had a bit of a serendipitous moment…Sammy Hagar’s “I Can’t Drive 55” came on the radio and I then knew what I was drinking that night: Hagar’s own Cabo Wabo tequila.

Let’s make Vince Neil proud after the jump… (more…)

Hello all, this is PQ Crash and the fine folks at DeadOn have allowed me to partake in their reindeer blogging games. Unfortunately, the writer’s strike has taken its toll on everyone here, and sad to say, myself included. However, when I’m bored beyond creation, I’ve always taken solace in two things: booze and video-games. So, on a bi-weekly basis, I’ll be concurrently reviewing one game and one alcohol for DeadOn. Sometimes the two go hand-in-hand, sometimes one wins out over the other. Which provides more mind-numbing relief? Let’s find out.

This week: Assassin’s Creed vs. Jack Daniels
