There’s always a calm before the storm, so it looks like we’ve got the eye passing over us right now. The next few weeks have some big releases, but this week takes it slow.

New Black Lips. But not much else. A quick run-down awaits after the jump.

Black Lips – 200 Million Thousand
Straight up garage rock. Comes right at ya. You know the drill.

Chris Isaak – Mr. Lucky
I’ve always dug Isaak and rather enjoyed his old Showtime series even. XM 45 has been playing “We Let Her Down” quite a bit and I’ve been enjoying it. I might pick this up at some point, but there’s no rush.

Van Morrison – Astral Weeks Live At The Hollywood Bowl
Classic album performed live. I’m more of a Tupelo Honey guy.

Joe Bonnamossa – The Ballad of John Henry
I’ve always felt that I should have given Bonnamossa a longer try. I do enjoy the bluesy rock afterall.

So, that’s the week. Next week, things get a little bigger. And likely a lot more disappointing.

Disappointing, isn’t it? March is pretty well loaded though, so we got that going for us.
