The Hills – Season 4 Episode 3: Better Off as Friends Tuesday, September 2, 2008Posted by Matt_T in Bring On The Rapture, matt_T, The Hills, THIS AIN'T REALITY TV.
We start this week at People’s Revolution and Whitney is going to NY right away because that’s how Kelly works. Whitney’s going to pack lots of black. She asks LC about DougDoug and LC’s lukewarm on him, she thought she’d jump back in how it used to be, but there’s no spark. Whitney says she should go and head dump him, if that’s what she wants to do. LC just doesn’t ‘want to have that conversation.’ LC, go ahead and get over with, no one likes to be led on.
At FIDM Stephanie tells LC about Spencer being crappy to her, and she was worried that she was going to lose Lauren as a friend. Lauren says she’s worked hard for both sides, and she’s been a good friend. Right.
Whitney arrives at People’s Revolution in NY and Kelly’s first words to her are “What took you so long?” Good to see you too Kelly. There’s a casting going on and Whitney is supposed to ask the boys to take off their shirts and pants and take photos. Sounds like a tough job. Whitney immediately jumps in and gives some clothes to a model Alex. And he went to USC. HEY SO DID WHITNEY. He’s a frat boy. But where are his red pants? Kelly invites him back to go out with some of the girls. I think Kelly is trying to hook Whitney up. And Whitney seems interested.
Speidi are at some fancy dinner and Spencer is glad that he gets some time alone with Heidi without her sister. He says he wishes he’d thrown Stephanie’s cake on LC. Heidi says that Stephanie is her friend and she misses her. Spencer says the day that he’s friends with her is the day, he’ll be friends with Lauren (dramatic pause) Conrad. Somebody get him acting lessons, this is painful. He tells her its cuddle time and I barf.
Lauren’s off to dinner with Brody and she’s late. Brody notices she has new bracelts on. She says she’s got her ‘sparklies’ and her ‘friendships.’ The friendships are from her mom and Steph. Brody rolls his eyes and again reiterates that he thinks Stephanie is disengenuous. He knows he’s right about her and he’ll be hearing LC say you’re right again. LC says he may be right about DougDoug. Brody didn’t see it going far. Lauren says she is settling by dating DougDoug and she doesn’t think she deserves to settle. I bet DougDoug will love hearing that. Brody says he wants to talk about them getting naked and Lauren blushes and says she hates him. No one believes you Lauren.
Alex the hot USC model meets Whitney at a classy bar. He wants to know if he got the booking but she doesn’t know. They talk about how Kelly seemed to like him. Kelly then calls and says no one else is coming. HOW CONVENIENT. Alex says eventually you meet good people and they go for a walk.
LC goes over to Stephanies and she sits on the couch where Spencer used to live. Omg gross. Steph asks about DougDoug and LC says she’s probably done with him and you can see Steph start salivating over him. Steph says she’s lonely there and talks to her hamster or guinea pig, she’s not quite sure what it is.
Alex and Whitney are walking around the city chatting about the differences between LA and NY and he walks her home, and they both seem to have had a good time.
Whitney recaps the events of NY for LC and wonders if she just screams lonely. She tells Lauren the date wasn’t awful. Well, that’s better than bad. Lauren hasn’t officially ended it with DougDoug yet, she’s just been avoiding him. She’s going to talk to him today though. How nice.
Steph shows up to Speidi’s place and she knocks and then walks in. Spencer tells her that when someone doesn’t come to the door that doesn’t just mean walk in. Oooh sick burn. She comes bearing a peace offering. Its a book on the Secret History of the CIA. I’m surprised he can read. Stephanie says she wants them to hang out. He declines, politely for once.
LC heads over to DougDoug’s to break off things with him and he’s shocked. Poor guy, I feel a little sorry for him, especially when Lauren gives him the ‘its not you, its me’ nonsense. They’re still going to be friends though and she says “Sorry Dougie.” Cue the emo music we’re done this week.
Special programing note: Next week there’s an new episode of The Hills on Sunday at 8:30 before the VMA’s.
