As was documented earlier, the excruciating torment fun is over on American Idol, and David Cook is your (well, someone’s) Champion.

While the feelings of the DeadOn Round Table were made clear, what are real fans saying? Well, I took a spin around the Innertubes so you don’t have to.

Some fans are taking it harder than others.

Over at IdolBlog.com:

NEVER WATCHING AGAIN

WE ALL KNOW DAVID A IS BETTER AND DAVID COOK WILL DO A FEW FORD COMM. AND THEN BE GONE !!! BUT DAVID A WILL BE A BIG STAR…

IT IS TIME FOR THE VOTING TO BE FAIR ONE VOTE PER NUMBER – NOT REDIAL REDIAL REDIAL.

I WONDER IF I CAN VOTE MORE THEN ONCE FOR PRESIDENT : )

NEXT SEASON I AM GETTING A NIGHT JOB !!!

A repeated thought on Finale night. Interesting, given that repeated fan voting surely helped Dreamboat out during the rest of the season. And the Presidential analogy has also been repeated many times. Because the American Idol vote is a fine parallel to the Presidency.

Some Chick
DA is the better singer..his voice is immaculate you can tell by how he speaks and sings. He knows how to use it. Where DC will only be a rocker, DA could be everything simply because he has the superior voice plain and simple.

DC won because of he is edgy, no one wanted a cookies and cream little boy to win. It’s a shame the viewers hadn’t blindfolded themselves for the whole episodes…the results might have been different.

But yet again, this is AI….the winner allowed to be chosen by countless viewers who wouldn’t not a vibrato from a vibrator LOL

A reference to vibrators and blinders. That’s a newsletter many readers may already subscribe to.

OH MY GOD I SCREAMED SO HARD IM SO HAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I AM CRYING SO HARDDD

Juli^posted several more times she was still crying.

Meanwhile, at the AmericanIdol.com forums, the moderators must have kept things cleaned up.

apples1975
who else is crying and screaming

Well, Juli^, for one. And probably Dreamboat’s Dad.

Congrats to David C but I still don’t think this is a true counted vote..One person can vote “542” times but some people can’t stay up for FOUR hours to vote…LOTS of people can’t. I think voting should at least be limited to 10 times each. Both were good and I think MY angel David will still go far.

Ladies and gentlemen, Dee Mirch’s niece! Affirmed.

The Incomparable MJs Big Blog, which provided many spot-on spoilers for performances, was not immune either:

Three words:
Jason. Stool. Love.

Um… well then.

Surely, the crazies would be here

*cant stop crying*

Obviously, she is no longer going to be BFF with Juli^. She has provided updates throughout the night – she is still crying.

I said a little prayer for you, that you’ll be OK with whatever happens.
Thank you so much for the incredible ride.

Janey then spent $4 to light candles at her church.

David thank you for touching our hearts with you voice! I am a 47 year old mom of two…who ended up with a serious case of ODD. I will wait anxiously for new songs from you, but until then I will get my DDD (Daily Dose of David) on my mp3 player, and Youtube. You are truly a special 17 year old, that the world could use a lot more of!!
Relax now, and get ready to shine even brighter…

ODD and DDD. From a mother. She should be more concerned about getting her DDoDD.

did u hear dat mily cyurs (hannah montana) is trying 2 be davids boyfriend!!!! 2 me dat wuld be a horrible match!!!!! wat do u all think???????

Well then, this is disturbing on multiple levels, though it appears even Dreamboat fans suspect some closeted feelings.

VoteforTheWorst.com was one continuous thread of greatness, but one stood out.

“Cook 56% – Archuletta 44% ”

That’s almost as bad as Reagan/Mondale.

He just went Presidential. That is raising the game.

Lastly, we close with a sore loser from EOnline –

Crook’s fans had 2-4 times as long to vote than Archuleta’s fans. Archie’s core fan base is younger and older people, particularly tweens. The voting started at 8 or 9 p.m. on a school night and lasted 4 hours Those kids had to be in bed an hour or two after the voting started. Some probably didn’t get to vote at all. Crook’s core fan base is adults who could stay up until the polls closed at midnight or 1:00 a.m. It was impossible for Archuleta to win given the demographics of his fan base. The only thing shocking is that Crook didn’t win by at least a 2:1 or 3:1 margin like Taylor Hicks. If Hillary’s supporters had 12 hours to vote for her and Obama’s had 3-4 hours to vote for him, who would be the Democratic nominee? Archuleta couldn’t win. It was impossible.

Impossible? Everyone seemed to think the reverse twenty hours ago. Granted, there may be a point, but I doubt every tween stopped dialing once they went to bed. Cell phone have a bit of range.

And thus ends the coverage of Season Seven of American Idol – and in many cases, not a minute too soon.

I’m surprised you can still read, speak, and type English after reading through the comments on all of those sites. Err, I mean…

I’m still horrified that Miley is trying to be Cook’s boyfriend

Her best friend Leslie says, oh she’s just being tranny…

4. Rockabye - Thursday, May 22, 2008

Wait, is Miley trying to be Cook or Archuleta’s boyfriend?

Or is she trying to have the best of both worlds?

Seriously, CyrArch, which just sounds like a new J.J. Abrams project, would probably lead to a great number of tweens and teens screaming themselves to death…possibly restoring quality to pop music. Where do I send my money?

5. Rockabye - Thursday, May 22, 2008

Jerkwheat, ever heard of Justin Nozuka?

Yeah, I think he was either a Vh1 “You Oughta Know” or one of the folks they play between shows on MTV last week. The song I heard was a catchy little acoustic number.

Ah, MTV – where music is only played as an interstitial.

8. Rockabye - Thursday, May 22, 2008

He’s a VH1 You Oughta Know guy, and he’s apparently had some really good placement in an MTV show. You’re right to call “After Tonight,” which was what you heard, catchy, little, and acoustic.

But go listen to “Save Him.” The kid has range.

And I’m sorry I hadn’t mentioned this until now, but this is fantastic work, JB.

StinkyVeyVey? That’ll be a big NO from me.
