Terrelle Pryor will be in a Nike commercial someday.

Saul Williams is now.

It’s not quite straight-up hip-hop, much more a hybrid between hip-hop and spoken word, which ,Williams is more renowned for. In my hunt yesterday for an MP3 of this song or an album of his (the free one is no longer free), I saw someone in a comment section call him a “black Jack White,” which could be a compliment, I’m sure, but also makes him the cross-section of more than a few genres.

Can we just call it a great song and be done with it?

The fantastic Nike commercial is below.

If anyone knows who the blonde jumping rope is, I’m curious.

“black Jack White” is a interesting thing to call it. I’d put it more in the style of a “hip-hop TV on the Radio” though.

I think it might be Hope Solo jumping rope. I know she’s later in the video training on a soccer pitch so it might be the same.

Doesn’t look like Hope Solo. Maybe a WNBA player or another soccer player?

You’re right SA, it’s probably not Hope. The jump roper is skinnier, has slightly different hair, her eyes and eye brows are softer, and the facial profile is quite a bit thinner. They do appear to be wearing the same shirt though.

This website mentions all of the athletes and the only female options are Diana Taurasi (no), Abby Wambach (no), and Hope Solo (maybe). I guess it’s just some random chick.

You know, it could be Abby Wambach, despite her doing the resistance training a bit before, but if so, she’s hotter than I remember her being. I doubt it’s some random chick, too.

Also, doesn’t Nike have a deal with Maria Sharapova? Wouldn’t she have been perfect for this?

Wow, strange coincidence. I just saw Saul Williams perform last night. While not a fan per se, it was quite a show.
