WATCH FNL TONIGHT!! Friday, February 8, 2008

I have spoken many times of my love for Friday Night Lights in these parts. It is one of the best acted, best written, best everything shows on the teevee. Tonight, however, is the last new episode due to the writer’s strike. Also, it’s quite possibly the last new episode EVER.

NBC Entertainment head Ben Silverman likes the show, but its ratings suck and have always sucked so that’s not a good sign. In fact, to quote Mr. Silverman..

“I love it. You love it. Unfortunately, no one watches it. That’s the thing with shows. People have to watch them. We’re NBC, we have a reputation to uphold. And, man, with this writers’ strike … well, we’ll see what we can do.”

So, please, watch FNL tonight. Pick up the Season One dvds if you haven’t. Watch Season 2 on nbc.com or Hulu. Then, join us for the letter writing and campaigning to save it for another season next year when the time comes.

I thought it was doing better on Friday nights and especially during the writer’s strike. That’s depressing.

I like 30 Rock and all but why was Ben Silverman so quick to cut out FNL and pump up 30 Rock in that interview? Was he trying to distract the interviewer with shiny objects?

Hulu is the greatest thing in the world.
