My Charlie Brown Christmas Friday, December 21, 2007

So I’m 100% sure without looking it up that there was no Scrubs on last night. The whole week so far NBC has been showing that “Choir” shit and I’d bet $1000 they did that last night as well. And considering that the show is going to be a repeat next week (a replay of the season premiere) and probably the first week of the new year, there won’t be any recaps for a while. And to be honest, depending on how long the writers’ strike go on, I don’t know how many more recaps they’ll be this television season. The show had filmed 12 of their last 18 (or 19 depending on which site you go look on) when the strike started and we’re already up to six. So there will be definitely be six more, but after that…who knows.

Anyway, depressing news about t.v. over, here is a special Scrubs video for you. I first saw this over the summer and Metsy showed it to me again few weeks ago. It’s the cast of Scrubs doing a Charlie Brown Christmas. And it’s really good, but I must warn you that it’s a bit long, around 10 minutes. And it was done during Christmas 2003. But who cares? It’s still good.

So Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you out there. I’ll see y’all in the new year.

Awesome.

Are they at least going to finish out what isn’t left when the strike ends? I hope we don’t only get 12.

Doug, I think Bill Lawrence has said in interviews that if the writers strike doesn’t end before the end of the television season, it would be possible for the show to film that final 6-7 episodes and release them on DVD. Which I would buy but it would totally suck. How many shows end on DVD? Those final episodes have to be written first. Only the first 12 (obviously including the six that have been aired) scripts are finished. So yeah, it’s a sucky situation all the way around.

And I must add, I’m 100% behind the writers on this. Just as a fan of a show that we all know isn’t coming back next season, it’s just sad to know that the series finale may never air on broadcast television.
