So as a public service announcement, I would just like you all to know that you weren’t hallucinating last night. The National Spelling Bee was on Prime-Time TV for three hours. Cue the kids…
You know what the Bee needs? Some pompous ass with an attitude who’s sole goal is to go out and destroy everyone. After these kids get it right, they clap hands with their competitors. Did LeBron high-five Sheed everytime he hit a shot last night? No. The Bee needs a trash talker who instead of asking for definitions and origins says stuff like “oh this is easy I don’t think Samir/whoever else would get this one. Next time could you give me something harder?” How great would it be to see some socially-awkward dorky-looking 13-yr old do this? Even if they didn’t win, they would certainly be the star and center of attention. The Bee needs a personality that transcends the event itself.

I almost titled the post “Beez Nutz”, I’m not sure why I didn’t follow through on that.
I completely agree MoL. I like my sports a little on the rowdy side. The politeness of the game is why I’m not a fan of golf either.
