7 Deadly Sins
WRATH
Purpose: an aural recreation of each of the 7 Deadly Sins- second in the series is Wrath. It’s good to be bad!
They say music soothes the savage beast- but sometimes you just need some musical accompaniment to your pissed-off state of mind. When you’re overindulging in the sin of Wrath, let this playlist help fuel your anger. Just don’t hold me responsible from any resulting fireworks.
1. “Only Happy When It Rains” by Garbage
2. “Move Bitch” by Ludacris
3. “Blue Monday” by Orgy
4. “Mother, Mother” by Tracy Bonham
5. “Where’s Your Head At” by Basement Jaxx
6. “Mama Said Knock You Out” by L.L. Cool J
7. “I Hate Myself For Loving You” by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts
8. “Caught Out There” by Kelis
9. “Head Like A Hole” by Nine Inch Nails
10. “Breathe” by Prodigy
11. “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” by Smashing Pumpkins
12. “One Step Closer” by Linkin Park
13. “Bulls On Parade” by Rage Against The Machine
14. “Road Rage” by Catatonia
15. “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morrissette
16. “I Hate Everything About You” by Ugly Kid Joe
I Hate Myself for Loving You is an AWESOME inclusion. Great mix, Texas.
ooooo, I’m Texas Gal, I let people LISTEN to my mixtape…
lousy, no good lawyers…
/end Homer’s sarcastic voice
Ugly Kid Joe. Damn, I wonder what happened to them.
Dead I hope.
Thank you, LA!
And HAH to you, JW. You snake my idea, I’m gonna have to turn up my game.
Hey, I’m not the one who decided to go seventeen years in between posts.
The Mixtape was legally declared dead in 36 states and 2 territories and I did what I had to do to make The Mixtape’s family feel better. If that meant creating a vastly superior clone to replace the lost child, then so be it.
8. Caught Out There
Ah, freshman year of college. I fell in with a big group of gay guys who took me to 18-and-over night every Thursday and we just LOOOOVED us some Kelis.
9. Head Like a Hole
When I saw NIN at the Spectrum a few years ago, Trent closed with this and I have never been a part of a spectacle more thrilling than hearing 15,000 people slam their fists into the air and scream along with the chorus.
You are good.
Many a speed ticket could be earned listening to this mixtape.
Oh TexasGal, how can I ever compete with your mad mixtape making skills. Mad props, mad props.
“7 Deadly Sins” by the Traveling Wilbury’s would have been an nice intro
Following my theme of “Steve always talks about Pearl Jam”
Once is a song about a guy that goes on a killing spree. If that’s not wrath, I don’t know what is!
For extra special wrath, try out “Wish” by Nine Inch Nails. It’s 35% more violent and 7.3 points more misanthropic.
If we are adding our suggestions, how about “Explode and Make Up” by Sugar. The live version on Besides is particularly fun, since Mould basically is screaming the words “I Hate You” at the top of his lungs midway through it.
The only thing on this mixtape that makes me particularly wrathful is that Orgy cover. I hate that song. The original is so good because the music and delivery enhances the confusion of the lyrics. Orgy took all the mystery out of it by being all roid-ragey. I’m glad they’re irrelevant.

How about some old school thrash metal - “I Hate” by Overkill. \m/
I would like to suggest “Arc Arsenal” by At the Drive-In or “Marches and Maneuvers” by Thursday
I agree with goathair…go with the New Order version of “Blue Monday.” Way better.
In hindsight, “Arc Arsenal” maybe more gluttony; which vice would you consider cannibalism to be?
Yes the New Order version is better- but doesn’t convey “Wrath”. I used the arrangement that fit the theme.
And I’d have to say cannibalism is Gluttony, DougOLis- good call.
As a new commenter on these here parts of the eBays, may I make an addition to the Wrath mixtape? How about Ænima by Tool? Man, the idea of decimating Los Angeles sort of makes me all giddy inside.
That’s one of the least angry NIN songs of all. Very famous, but exceedingly tame for them.
In college, I had the distinct pleasure of attending the NIN/David Bowie concert. Bowie sang with the band for a few songs, and I assure you there has never been anything as angry and spooky as Bowie wailing the “angels bleed from the tainted touch of my caress” line. Gave me the shivers.
for gluttony, “Eat It” by Weird Al?
