Saturday Morning - “Picture Pages” Saturday, March 31, 2007

trackback

I wanted a Mortimer Ichabod pen so bad when I was a little kid. I was convinced that if I had one, I could get on “Picture Pages” with Bill Cosby, and it would make that cool noise as I drew. Sadly, it was not to be. I’ll just have to console myself with clips of the show, and the memories of a Mortimer-less childhood. And let me also take this opportunity to say thank goodness for Captain Kangaroo and Nickelodeon (Pinwheel in particular)- where else could you see Chapi Chapo and Teeny Little Superguy and Picture Pages?

See four different clips, plus a bonus 80s commercial, after the jump…

COMMERCIAL BREAK: Jell-O Pudding Pops
When you think of Bill Cosby, you think of: Cosby Show, chocolate cake and Jell-O pudding pops. This is from 1980, when the pudding pop was first introduced to the world.

1) I don’t remember this show at all. Maybe I subconciously put everything out of my head that has crayons that look like vibrators.

2) I’m so dissapointed that Jello Pudding Pops aren’t still being sold.

3) If anyone has the album “Bill Cosby Talks to Kids About Drugs”, lemme know. I want to do a review of it, but can’t find it.

Au contraire, Steve: Jell-O Pudding Pops are still being sold.

You had me so excited until I actually typed in my zip code to find a store … and got no matches.
