IOWTMEA is not just a feature, it is an ethos. Over the course of my life so far, I’ve ingested a lot of music. I’ve written extensively about it. I’ve geeked out about it. It’s the epicenter of my life, and it’s done the job of nurse, camp counselor, confidante, lover, child, parent, brother, acquaintance and godknowswhatelseholyshitisitimportanttome. And with that has come a shadowy corner of my collection, a dark, shameful spot full of music that shouldn’t have grabbed me by the collar but did.

Tonight we are back with the Guys. Randy was right last week when he said only about 4 of them deserve to go on to the Top 10 but alas, that’s not the way the show works, so we have to weed out 4 of these schmucks this week and next. Today we present DeadOn’s list of the Top Five Cartoon Theme Songs to Boogie Down To:
5) Darkwing Duck Theme Song. We had to represent one of the Disney Afternoon cartoons here, and it was a tough call between Darkwing Duck and fan-favorite Duck Tales. While Duck Tales may have been more popular, Darkwing Duck’s theme song has a bumping bass line, some nifty horn accompaniment, and those smooth, soulful vocals. And some good call-and-holler going on in the hook: “When there’s trouble you call DW. (Darkwing Duck) Let’s get dangerous. (Darkwing Duck)”

Some weeks are easier than others when it comes to choosing the Asshat of the Week. When Chris Daughtry turns into a big diva at a Children’s Hospital, the Asshattery is so obvious it hurts. But Asshatitude is about more than being a jerk. Sometimes, its about saying something so utterly insane that I have no choice but to bestow the hono(u)r upon someone. This is one of those weeks. HUMP DAY! HUMP DAY! HOORAY!
OK, that was way too much enthusiasm for a Wednesday, but YMR has this Friday off so it means that my week is nearly done before I get a fun weekend in Philly. I hope you enjoyed our friends from the North Country yesterday morning, The Hip do it right. YMR is gonna turn it back down a notch and move it to the Midwest today.
