It’s the last Sunday of the month, so as usual, many of the DeadOn crew are getting together at Clare’s fastidious studio apartment for a pajama party and tickle fight tonight.

ht some down-home hooch, Tuffy’s bringing the twinkies and I’ve made my world-famous Apple Betty. Clearly, it’s gonna be awesome.
However, before we start the double-elimination TickleOff tournament at midnight, we’re hanging out and watching the Oscars.
We’re gonna capture some of our reactions here live tonight…feel free to hang out with us in the comments if you are so inclined.

I can’t count the number of people who come up to me on the street every day and ask me about my Deadspin avatar. This is namely because it never happens. But creating it does require Photoshop.
Still, my skills need honing beyond the 160 square pixel world. And what better way than to start an arbitrary challenge with noted shirtsmith twoeightnine? Well, there are lots of ways. Buy Photoshop books, or take Photoshop seminars, for one. In retrospect, a Photoshop war actually didn’t help me all that much. But it did happen, and I can’t hide that fact.
So in what just may be a monthly-or-so series, 289 and I will engage in epic image altering, and you will be exposed to the nauseating results. (more…)

I was originally going to call this “My Tivo Hates Me”. But now, in hindsight, I see that my Tivo is simply schitzophrenic and oscillates rapidly between thinking I’m a redneck, a housewife, and a MTV obsessed idiot.
A year ago, I noticed that Tivo wasn’t doing so hot with it’s recording suggestions. After some thought, I realized I was better off using it like a glorified VCR that only recorded the things I actually wanted. So I turned off the “Suggestions” feature. Fast forward to present day. I was thinking to myself that maybe that year of data collection made it a little more accurate, so I turn the “Suggestions” back on. And here are the results of this colossal mistake…..after the jump

Tuffy and I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out if we owned any movies in common but finally we settled on Clue because I own it and he could download it off iTunes. 90 minutes later we had accumulated Stevie, CDN Moose, Goathair, ScottVanPeltIsMyHero and Suss and we were ready to rock. Also, Steve and Moose were not actually watching the movie, they were following along with an online script. I’ll let Moose kick it off for you….. (more…)
